I need a suitably vicious word for this most annoying of modern disorders. Various appliances now take upon themselves to emit a beep whenever they have finished whatever scullery-maid task they were doing. And another. And another. And anotheerrrrrrraaarrrrrgggggggghhhhhhhh!
